About
Death Beach
Death Beach is the creator of the Music NFT Hackathon, an event designed to accelerate the understanding of NFT technology and how it can be used to in the career of an independent music artist.
Recognizing early on how this technology would revolutionize the music industry more than streaming or social media ever could, DB began piecing together how to use this technology and how to take advantage of it for the independent artist.
Death Beach's Youtube channel has led to him consulting major label acts, movie directors, and leading virtual events. He has learned about blockchain through the IvanOnTech Academy and is currently learning the basics of smart contract coding. Add this onto 10 years of producing and mixing music for independent artists.
DB has been an NFT speaker at events sponsored by the label HRDRV, has worked with Grammy nominated/winning Recording Engineers and Songwriters, and more.

ABOUT MY EXPERTISE IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY
MUSIC NFT HACKATHON
When Does The Hackathon Start?
The 3 Day Nft Hackathon Starts on Tuesday October 20th at 6 pm PST.
How Much Time Commitment Will This Require From Me?
Each day is about 60-90 Minutes. I will do a presentation to start and then do Q & A.
On top of that, there will be assignments for you to complete and information to gather between our sessions.
These homework assignments aren't meant to be pointless tasks, but rather actionable steps that will actually make a big difference at the end of our time together.
What Programs And Platforms Will We Cover?
You can use any wallet, blockchain, platform, and social media that you want to for your own NFTs.
We will primarily use and discuss Metamask wallet, NiftyKit, Opensea, Discord, Twitter, Instagram, and Audius.
No. That's what makes this NFT Hackathon so great.
So many artists out there are confused with how to NFT properly. And there's way too much noise with high dollar amounts and low functionality.
In this hackathon, we'll go through what you actually need to know in order to get the best results without learning all the other fluff behind each platform. We will use sites that have smart contracts we can plug our information into. The site I use even let you create a Smart Contract that is in your name! The NFTs are then minted through your contract. How cool is that?
This is literally "dummy-proof" and as real as it gets.
What Is A Music NFT Hackathon?
Although there is a big focus on the minting process in this training, it's really so much deeper than that....
There's the amazing community we are attracting of talented individuals, and the different aspects of community and relationship nurturing you can do in your own community.
We will discuss social media as it is a vehicle that helps you get to your fans. Most artists just need to get organized about social media and with a little guidance you will have direction. Your fans can't wait to show off your NFT on social media!
Really, the hackathon is your shortcut to understanding NFTs, how and why to make them, and who will buy them.
In the past year or so, I have invested 100's of hours into learning about NFTs, VR/AR/XR, what labels are doing, what mainstream artists are doing and consulting people in all these things and more. You get access to all my knowledge and so much more.
What If I Don't Finish The Hackathon?
I've designed the hackathon to be doable even for the busiest musician or music entrepreneur. Once you gain access into the hackathon, you will have access to the live trainings, the replays, and the online community. You can watch the replays at your own pace, but don't procrastinate! The industry and world are changing fast and your dreams will only get further away. Take action and get ready because in these 3 short days I will totally change your life!
Why Are You Doing This NFT Hackathon?
After speaking with many artists, I realized the biggest challenge was understanding the tech, piecing it all together with the traditional industry, and actually releasing an NFT. Now, I wanted to do something special to help the music community. Since the pandemic has taken a huge toll in the music space, I wanted to make sure it was also accessible for many. IMPACT IS GREATER THAN INCOME!!! I've been ringing the bell on my youtube and working with people one on one. But time is running it out and I want to help as many people as possible.
What Makes Me Qualified?
My innate ability to understand this technology and its ability to build relationships between artists and fans is what motivated me to make videos on Youtube originally.
There are few people who are able to articulate and understand how a lot of these pieces fit together. Some of the technology changes weekly it seems. For over a year clients have relied on me to supply them with the most accurate information on this developing industry.
This journey really stated for me over 10 years ago when the music industry was done with CD's and streaming was just dawning. Social Media was just blooming too.
I was a recording engineer at the time. I would record 14 hours a day for a couple hundred bucks. Maybe a couple times a week. Independent artists couldn't make money off their music in the same ways they used to. And they started to be able to make terrible recordings at home. Work got less and less and the studio owner kept taking longer to pay me.
I was late to the party on how to use social media. And I still don't understand streamings value. But as soon as I learned what an NFT was last year, I devoted all my time to learning about them and what direction the industry was already going in.
Of course, the pandemic is what allowed me the time to learn all of this in such a short time. The studio work had slowed, my other job closed for 9 months, I lost my car, and even sold some equipment at one point. I did however mix and produce some of my best work during this time.
After learning about NFTs I tried to find people discussing them and music. I had found none. A few random interviews with no views. I've since only heard a small handful of people discuss the cross section of converging technologies, music, and blockchain/NFT. And after realizing I knew way more than most people discussing music NFT on clubhouse, I decided to take matters into my own hands.
I created my youtube page and began creating my own opportunities and went from being at a complete rock bottom to having a completely brand new skill that is heavily in demand. I've gone as far as to learn how blockchain works and basic smart contract programming. I could project manage for a project with front and backend developers.
I tell you this for a few reasons. I know how hard this past few years have been and what it takes to keep your head above water. I also took the time to learn all the boring nerdy stuff so you don't have to.
Community building, leveraging different platforms, and utility has been my been my focus for successful NFTs. All successful NFT projects do this.
Most independent artists are focused on getting millions of streams or millions of followers. I want you to enjoy the type of successful music career that you imagine and I want to show you how to use blockchain to make it happen.
Wanna know the craziest part??? You really don't need 100k followers in order to step into this dream life.
All you need is 1,000 diehard fans that will change your life FOREVER.
Once you get to know me, or if you see my videos, you know that I keep it 100% real and try to provide the best information I can.
I keep it real but I do not know everything. I have my flaws too. Authenticity and transparency are key core values in decentralized blockchain and to everything that I do as Death Beach.
This world is riddled with the "fake and flashy gurus" and sleazy snake oil salesmen and that's not what I'm about. They are mostly talking about flipping NFTs, jumping on platforms, and not focused on the bigger picture. In my opinion, we are at the beginning of a 5-7 year long change in the entertainment industry. Now is the time to learn, experiment and build tight relationships with your community.
In the past year I have been able to learn to mint NFTs, started a youtube with videos at 18k + views, and an instagram reel with almost 80k views. My next step is build up my discord to 200 people by the end of the year and do not doubt I'll do it. Even without the discord, I have been building community and getting wins for myself in NFT with the same knowledge I am going to share with you.
This goes to show, if you build a highly engaged community you don't need thousands and thousands of followers to make an impact.
If I can do it...you can too!
Anyways, enough about me and let's get you on the right path to success so go join the Music NFT Hackathon now!
